Prasad meaning
Prasad (प्रसाद) is a Hindu boy's name of Sanskrit origin.
Clearness, calm; graciousness, kindness, favour; food blessed by a deity
Also used to mean: gift of god, blessing
Prasad (प्रसाद) is the Sanskrit prasāda, from pra-sad, "to become clear, to be gracious". Monier-Williams gives it as clearness and purity, calm and serenity, and graciousness, kindness and favour, which in the Bhagavata Purana is personified as a son of Dharma. It is also the food offered to a deity and then shared among devotees, the prasād every Hindu temple gives out. Name lists give "gift of God" or "blessing", which follows the dictionary's senses of favour and sacred offering. The name is used in Maharashtra, Karnataka and Andhra Pradesh.
