Nihal meaning
Nihal (ਨਿਹਾਲ) is a Sikh and Hindu boy's name of Persian origin.
Fulfilled, successful; made blissful
Also used to mean: happy
Nihal (ਨਿਹਾਲ) is a Punjabi and Hindustani word that the Mahan Kosh of Bhai Kahn Singh Nabha marks as Persian and glosses as one whose wishes are fulfilled, successful. Platts records nihāl in the senses exalted, prosperous, thriving, pleased and happy, but labels that word Hindi and lists the Persian nihāl separately, as a sapling or young plant. The happy sense is the one that matters in Sikh scripture: in the Japji, at Ang 8 of the Guru Granth Sahib, God watches over creation and by a glance of grace, nadar nihāl, bestows happiness. Name lists give Nihal as "happy" or "blissful", while some Muslim name lists give "young tree", following the Persian word.
