Santosh meaning
Santosh (संतोष) is a Hindu boy's name of Sanskrit origin.
Contentment, satisfaction
Santosh (संतोष) is the Sanskrit saṃtoṣa, "contentment" or "satisfaction". Monier-Williams cites it from the Maitrāyaṇī Upaniṣad and the Mahabharata, and notes the phrase saṃtoṣaṃ kṛ, "to be satisfied". In the Purāṇas Contentment is also personified as Santoṣa, a son of Dharma, the god of righteousness, and Tuṣṭi, satisfaction, and is counted among a class of gods called the Tuṣitas. Indian name lists give Santosh as "contentment" or "satisfaction", which matches the dictionary. Santhosh is another spelling.
