Sanjay meaning
Sanjay (संजय) is a Hindu boy's name of Sanskrit origin.
Completely victorious; victory
Sanjay (संजय) is the Sanskrit saṃjaya, from saṃ-, "completely", and jaya, "victory". Monier-Williams gives it as an adjective meaning completely victorious or triumphant, from the Ṛgveda onward, and as a noun meaning conquest or victory, as well as a battle formation. Its most famous bearer is Sañjaya of the Mahabharata, son of Gavalgaṇa and companion of the blind king Dhṛtarāṣṭra. Granted divine sight by the sage Vyāsa, he describes the Kurukshetra war to the king as it happens, and the Bhagavad Gita opens with Dhṛtarāṣṭra questioning him. Indian name lists give Sanjay as "victorious" or "triumphant", which matches the dictionary.
