Arijit meaning
Arijit (अरिजीत) is a Hindu boy's name of Sanskrit origin (Bengali usage). By its first sound, अ, it is a Mesh rashi name (Krittika nakshatra) in the North Indian table.
Conquering enemies; also a son of Krishna
Arijit (অরিজিৎ in Bengali, अरिजीत in Hindi) joins two Sanskrit words: ari, "enemy", and jit, "conquering" or "winning". Monier-Williams gives the compound arijit the sense "conquering enemies" and notes that the Bhāgavata Purāṇa uses it as the name of one of Krishna's sons, born to his wife Bhadrā. The same -jit ending appears in names such as Indrajit and Abhijit. Arijit is a boys' name used mainly by Bengali speakers; a well-known bearer is the playback singer Arijit Singh.
