Amritanshu meaning
Amritanshu (अमृतांशु) is a Hindu boy's name of Sanskrit origin. By its first sound, अ, it is a Mesh rashi name (Krittika nakshatra) in the North Indian table.
The moon (literally 'nectar-rayed')
Also used to mean: ray of nectar
Amritanshu (अमृतांशु) is Sanskrit amṛtāṃśu, made of amṛta, the nectar of immortality, and aṃśu, "a ray". Monier-Williams records it as a name for the moon: in Indian tradition the moon is linked with amṛta, and its cool rays were thought to carry it. Baby-name lists give the name as "ray of nectar" or "immortal light", which is the literal sense of the two parts, and some also give "the moon", which is the dictionary meaning. The name sits with other moon names built on aṃśu, such as Shitanshu and Sudhanshu.
