Jagat meaning
Jagat (जगत) is a Hindu boy's name of Sanskrit origin.
The world, this earth; that which moves or lives
Also used to mean: universe
Jagat (जगत) is the Sanskrit word for the world. Monier-Williams explains that it first meant moving or living, and as a noun that which moves or is alive, people and animals, and then the world, especially this world, and the earth. In the plural it means the worlds, or mankind. The same word begins names such as Jagannath, Jagdish and Jagmohan, where it means "of the world". Name lists give "world" or "universe", in line with the dictionary. The name is used across North and West India.
