Kshitij meaning
Kshitij (क्षितिज) is a Hindu boy's name of Sanskrit origin.
The horizon; earth-born; the planet Mars
Kshitij (क्षितिज) is Sanskrit kṣitija, from kṣiti, "the earth", and -ja, "born". Monier-Williams gives it literally as earth-born, and as a name for a tree, an earthworm, the planet Mars and the demon Naraka, all "children of the earth". As a neuter noun it means the horizon, the line where earth meets sky, and that is the sense the name carries in Hindi and Marathi today. Name lists give "horizon", which matches. Kshitiz is a Nepali spelling, and Kshitija is the girls' name.
