Ayush meaning
Ayush (आयुष) is a Hindu boy's name of Sanskrit origin.
Life, vital power, health; duration of life, long life
Ayush (आयुष) comes from Sanskrit āyus, a neuter noun that Monier-Williams glosses as "life, vital power, vigour, health" and "duration of life, long life", citing the Rigveda onward. The dictionary also names Āyus as the son of King Purūravas and the celestial nymph Urvaśī. The same word forms the first part of Āyurveda, India's traditional system of medicine, whose name joins āyus with veda, "knowledge". Name lists give Ayush as "long life", which matches the dictionary. The Sanskrit stem ends in -s, and the -ṣ of the modern name is the form it takes when joined to endings or other words. Aayush is an alternative spelling.
