Vardhan meaning
Vardhan (वर्धन) is a Hindu boy's name of Sanskrit origin.
Increasing, thriving; granting prosperity; a bestower of prosperity; a name of Shiva
Also used to mean: growth, one who nourishes
Vardhan (वर्धन) is the Sanskrit vardhana, from the verb vṛdh, "to grow, to increase". Monier-Williams gives it as increasing and thriving, causing to grow, strengthening and granting prosperity, and as a noun a bestower of prosperity; the Mahābhārata uses it as a name of Shiva. As a noun it also means growth, success and the rearing of a child. The word ends many royal names, such as Harshavardhana, the seventh-century emperor of Kannauj, whose family is known as the Vardhana dynasty. Name lists give it as "growth" or "one who nourishes", in line with the dictionary.
In Hindu tradition this is a name of Shiva.
