Revant meaning
Revant (रेवन्त) is a Hindu boy's name of Sanskrit origin. By its first sound, रे, it is a Tula rashi name (Swati nakshatra) in the North Indian table.
A son of Surya, chief of the Guhyakas
Revant (रेवन्त) is the Sanskrit revanta, the name of a son of Sūrya, the Sun. Monier-Williams calls him chief of the Guhyakas, a class of semi-divine beings who attend Kubera, and cites the Purāṇas and Varāhamihira's Bṛhatsaṃhitā; it also links the name to Raivata, the fifth Manu. The Mārkaṇḍeya Purāṇa describes him born on horseback in armour, with sword, bow and quiver, and the Bṛhatsaṃhitā prescribes that he be shown riding a horse with a hunting party, which is how he appears beside the sun-god in sculpture. Name lists give the name as "son of the sun", which matches. Revanth is a variant spelling.
