Suryanarayan meaning
Suryanarayan (सूर्यनारायण) is a Hindu boy's name of Sanskrit origin. By its first sound, सू, it is a Kumbh rashi name (Shatabhisha nakshatra) in the North Indian table.
The Sun personified
Also used to mean: sun god
Suryanarayan (सूर्यनारायण) joins Sanskrit sūrya, "the sun", with Nārāyaṇa, one of the great names of Vishnu. Monier-Williams gives sūrya-nārāyaṇa as the Sun personified and records it as the name of various authors. The name reflects the Vaishnava view of the sun as a visible form of Nārāyaṇa, and Surya is worshipped under this name at many temples, especially in south India. Name lists give Suryanarayan as "sun god", matching the dictionary. In Telugu families the name usually keeps its final vowel as Suryanarayana, and in Tamil families it often becomes Suryanarayanan.
In Hindu tradition this is a name of Surya.
