Purvesh meaning
Purvesh (पूर्वेश) is a Hindu boy's name of Sanskrit origin. By its first sound, पू, it is a Kanya rashi name (Hasta nakshatra) in the North Indian table.
Pūrva 'eastern' + īśa 'lord': lord of the east
Purvesh (पूर्वेश) joins pūrva with īśa, "lord". Monier-Williams gives pūrva as "eastern, east" as well as "first, former, earlier"; the feminine pūrvā is simply "the east", the direction of sunrise. The name therefore means "lord of the east", which is how name lists give it, and it can also be read as "the first lord". Monier-Williams does not list pūrveśa as one word, so the meaning comes from its parts. It is a modern name.
