Arkadeep meaning
Arkadeep (अर्कदीप) is a Hindu boy's name of Sanskrit origin (Bengali usage). By its first sound, अ, it is a Mesh rashi name (Krittika nakshatra) in the North Indian table.
Light of the sun (arka, 'sun, ray' + dīpa, 'lamp, light')
Arkadeep (अर्कदीप) joins two Sanskrit words. Arka, which Monier-Williams gives as a ray or flash of light in the Veda and later as the sun and fire, is itself a Bengali name. Dīpa means a light, lamp or lantern, and is the second part of many names such as Pradeep and Sandeep. Together they describe the sun as a lamp, and baby-name lists give the name as "light of the sun". The compound is not in the classical dictionaries, but its sense is clear from the parts. It is used mainly in Bengal, where it is usually spelt Arkadip.
