Abhik meaning
Abhik (अभीक) is a Hindu boy's name of Sanskrit origin (Bengali usage). By its first sound, अ, it is a Mesh rashi name (Krittika nakshatra) in the North Indian table.
Fearless
Abhik (अभीक) is the Sanskrit a-bhīka, "fearless", from a-, "not", and bhī, "fear". Monier-Williams records this sense from the old lexicographers. On the same page it lists a separate word, abhīka, meaning "longing" or "eager", which was also used for a lover, a master or a poet, so the spelling carries two quite different Sanskrit words. Name lists give Abhik simply as "fearless", which is the first of these. The name is used mainly in Bengal, where it is often written Avik.
