Amlan meaning
Amlan (अम्लान) is a Hindu boy's name of Sanskrit origin (Bengali usage). By its first sound, अ, it is a Mesh rashi name (Krittika nakshatra) in the North Indian table.
Unwithered, clean, clear; bright, unclouded
Also used to mean: unfading, pure
Amlan (अम्लान) is Sanskrit a-mlāna, "not withered", from the negative a- and mlāna, "faded, wilted". Monier-Williams gives it as "unwithered, clean, clear" and as "bright, unclouded", said of a calm mind or a cheerful face. As a noun it is the globe-amaranth, a flower prized because it keeps its colour when dried. Name lists translate Amlan as "unfading" or "pure", close to the dictionary sense. In Bengali it is a familiar literary word, as in amlān hāsi, "an unfading smile", and a boys' name.
