Ritam meaning
Ritam (ऋतम्) is a Hindu boy's name of Sanskrit origin.
Settled order, divine law; truth, righteousness
Also used to mean: divine order
Ritam (ऋतम्) is the Vedic word ṛtam, one of the great ideas of the Ṛgveda. Monier-Williams gives ṛta as fixed or settled order, law or rule, sacred custom and divine law, and also truth in general, righteousness and right. In the hymns ṛta is the cosmic order that keeps the sun on its course and the seasons turning, the forerunner of the later idea of dharma. Name lists give "truth", which fits. The name is used in Bengal, where it is also spelt Ritom, and as Rutam in Maharashtra.
