Rituraj meaning
Rituraj (ऋतुराज) is a Hindu boy's name of Sanskrit origin.
King of the seasons: spring
Also used to mean: king of seasons
Rituraj (ऋतुराज) is Sanskrit ṛtu-rāja, from ṛtu, "season", and rāja, "king". Monier-Williams gives it as "the king of the seasons", meaning spring, and cites the story collection Kathāsaritsāgara. Indian poets have long crowned spring, Vasanta, king of the six seasons, the time of mango blossom and the cuckoo's song. Name lists give "king of seasons" or "spring", the same sense. Ruturaj is the Marathi spelling, borne by the cricketer Ruturaj Gaikwad.
