Mridul meaning

Mridul (मृदुल) is a Hindu boy's name of Sanskrit origin.

Soft, tender, mild

Also used to mean: gentle

Mridul (मृदुल) is Sanskrit mṛdula, "soft, tender, mild", a fuller form of mṛdu, "soft". Monier-Williams also records two less familiar senses: as a neuter noun mṛdula means water, and as a masculine noun it names a fragrant tree and a kind of aloe-wood. Name lists give "soft", "gentle" or "tender", which matches the dictionary, and a few add "water". In Hindi mṛdul is still a literary word for a gentle voice or nature. Mridula is the matching girl's name, and in Maharashtra the spelling Mrudul is used.
