Devanand meaning
Devanand (देवानंद) is a Hindu boy's name of Sanskrit origin. By its first sound, दे, it is a Meen rashi name (Revati nakshatra) in the North Indian table.
Delight of the gods
Also used to mean: joy of God, divine joy
Devanand (देवानंद) is the Sanskrit devānanda, from deva, "god", and ānanda, "happiness, joy". Monier-Williams translates it as "delight of the gods" and records it as a man's name borne by several authors. Indian name lists give "joy of God" or "divine joy", which is the same idea seen from the other side. The name has been used by monks and scholars, and is still given in North and South India. It should not be confused with the film star Dev Anand, whose given name was Dev and whose family name was Anand.
