Yugandhar (युगंधर) is the Sanskrit yugaṃdhara, from yuga and dhara, "bearing, holding". Yuga means both "a yoke" and "an age of the world", and the two readings part ways here. Monier-Williams gives yugaṃdhara as holding the yoke, and as the pole of a carriage to which the yoke is fixed, besides the names of a king and a mountain. Name lists read it instead as "bearer of the age" and give it as a name of Krishna, a sense found in Shivaji Sawant's Marathi novel Yugandhar on Krishna's life. That sense is not in the dictionary, so we show both.
