Devansh meaning
Devansh (देवांश) is a Hindu boy's name of Sanskrit origin. By its first sound, दे, it is a Meen rashi name (Revati nakshatra) in the North Indian table.
A portion of a god, a partial incarnation of a deity
Devansh (देवांश) is Sanskrit devāṃśa, a compound of deva, "god", and aṃśa, "portion, share". Monier-Williams glosses it as "a portion, i.e. partial incarnation of a god", citing the Kathāsaritsāgara, the great medieval collection of Sanskrit tales. The word describes someone in whom a share of a god's being is present, an idea familiar from the epics, where heroes are often said to be born from a portion of a deity. Baby-name lists give "part of God" or "divine portion", which matches the dictionary. The name is also spelt Devaansh, and the feminine form Devanshi is used for girls. It is written with the nasal sign (anusvāra) in Hindi: देवांश.
