Kumaresan meaning
Kumaresan (குமரேசன்) is a Tamil and Hindu boy's name.
Kumaraṉ (Skanda; youth) joined with īcaṉ (lord): Lord Kumara, Murugan
Also used to mean: Lord Murugan, lord of youths
Kumaresan (குமரேசன்) joins kumaraṉ and īcaṉ, and the vowels merge as in Kathiresan or Murugesan. The Tamil Lexicon gives kumaraṉ, from Sanskrit kumāra, as a young man, a son, and Skanda as the son of Shiva, and īcaṉ, from Sanskrit īśa, as the Supreme Being, a lord or master. The name therefore means "Lord Kumara", that is Murugan, the youthful god; name lists also give "lord of youths". It is a traditional boy's name in Tamil Nadu and among Sri Lankan Tamils.
