Sabarish meaning
Sabarish (சபரீஷ்) is a Tamil and Hindu boy's name of Sanskrit origin (Tamil and Malayalam usage).
Lord of Sabari, that is, Ayyappa of Sabarimala
Also used to mean: lord ayyappa
Sabarish (சபரீஷ்) means 'lord of Sabari', a name of Ayyappa, the god of the hill shrine of Sabarimala in Kerala, which draws pilgrims from all over South India, especially from Tamil Nadu. It joins Śabarī with Sanskrit īśa, lord. The Tamil Lexicon records capari, Śabarī, as the huntress-devotee who won Rama's blessing in the Ramayana; Monier-Williams gives śabarī as a woman of the Śabara forest people. Tradition connects the hill with her. Sabarish and the related Sabari and Sabarinathan are boys' names used in Tamil and Malayali families who make the pilgrimage.
