Indra meaning
Indra (इन्द्र) is a Hindu boy's name of Sanskrit origin.
God of sky and rain, king of the gods; chief, best
Also used to mean: god of rain
Indra (इन्द्र) is the name of the great Vedic god of the sky and rain. Monier-Williams describes him as the god of the atmosphere who sends rain and battles the demons of darkness with his thunderbolt, the vajra; in later belief he remains king of the gods and regent of the east. The word also came to mean "chief, best of" at the end of compounds, which is why so many Indian names end in -indra or -endra, from Surendra to Mahendra. As a given name Indra is short; Inder is the Punjabi form.
