Iravan meaning
Iravan (इरावान) is a Hindu boy's name of Sanskrit origin.
Possessing food, refreshing; the ocean; a cloud; a son of Arjuna
Iravan (इरावान) is Sanskrit irāvat, "possessing food" or "granting refreshment", from irā, food and drink. Monier-Williams records it in the Ṛgveda and Mahābhārata in that sense, and as a noun for the ocean and a cloud, both bringers of water. Its fame as a name comes from Irāvān, the son of Arjuna and the Nāga princess Ulūpī, who fights and dies in the Kurukshetra war. In Tamil Nadu he is worshipped as the god Aravan. Name lists usually point to him rather than to the word's meaning.
