Urmil (उर्मिल, Gujarati ઉર્મિલ) is the boys' counterpart of Urmila, the name of Lakshmana's wife in the Rāmāyaṇa. Both are usually traced to Sanskrit ūrmi, which Monier-Williams gives as a wave or billow, and figuratively as a surge of feeling, as well as speed. Name lists give Urmil as "beautiful" or "lovely". We could not find that sense in the dictionaries, so it appears to be a modern meaning attached to the name. Urmil is used mainly in Gujarati families.
