Meghraj meaning
Meghraj (मेघराज) is a Hindu boy's name of Sanskrit origin. By its first sound, मे, it is a Simha rashi name (Magha nakshatra) in the North Indian table.
Megha 'cloud' + rāja 'king': king of clouds
Also used to mean: lord indra
Meghraj (मेघराज) joins megha, "cloud", with rāja, "king", to give "king of the clouds". Monier-Williams lists megharāja only as the name of a Buddha in the Lalitavistara, but in Hindi megh-rāj is used for Indra, the rain-giving king of the gods, and that is how name lists explain it. In a country that waits on the monsoon, the image is a happy one. The name is used in Rajasthan and Gujarat, and the town of Meghraj in Gujarat is named after a fifteenth-century ruler.
