Shakti meaning
Shakti (शक्ति) is a Hindu unisex name of Sanskrit origin, used for both girls and boys.
Power, ability, strength, energy; a deity's power personified as his consort
Also used to mean: goddess
Shakti (शक्ति) is the Sanskrit word śakti, "power, ability, strength, energy". Monier-Williams also records its religious sense: the energy or active power of a god, personified as his wife and worshipped by the Śākta tradition, where the Goddess herself is Śakti. Other senses include the power of a word to convey meaning, the creative power of a poet, and a spear or lance. Name lists give "power", "energy" or "goddess", all in line with the dictionary. In India Shakti is given to girls and boys alike; Tamil and Malayalam families often write Shakthi.
