Krupa meaning
Krupa (कृपा) is a Hindu girl's name of Sanskrit origin (Gujarati and Marathi usage).
Pity, tenderness, compassion
Also used to mean: grace, mercy
Krupa (કૃપા) is Sanskrit kṛpā, which Monier-Williams defines as pity, tenderness and compassion; the phrase kṛpāṃ kṛ means to take pity on someone. In everyday Hindi, Gujarati and Marathi the word is used above all for divine grace or kindly favour, which is why name lists give the meaning as grace or mercy. The spelling with -ru- follows Gujarati and Marathi pronunciation of the vowel ṛ; Hindi speakers write the same name as Kripa. Monier-Williams also notes Kṛpā as the name of a river in the Viṣṇu Purāṇa.
