Sumati meaning

Sumati (सुमति) is a Hindu girl's name of Sanskrit origin.

Good mind, kindness, devotion; very wise or intelligent

Sumati (सुमति) joins su-, "good", with mati, "mind, thought". Monier-Williams gives it as "good mind or disposition, benevolence, kindness, favour" and "devotion, prayer", and as an adjective "very wise or intelligent". In the Ramayana and the Puranas Sumati is the wife of King Sagara, mother of his sixty thousand sons. Name lists give "good mind" or "wisdom", which matches. Sumathi is the usual spelling in Tamil Nadu and Kerala.
