Sangeeta meaning
Sangeeta (संगीता) is a Hindu girl's name of Sanskrit origin.
Music; a song sung in chorus; singing with music and dance
Sangeeta (संगीता) comes from Sanskrit saṃgīta, from saṃ-, "together", and gīta, "sung". Monier-Williams gives it first as "sung together, sung in chorus or harmony", and as a noun a piece sung by many voices, singing with instruments, a concert, and any song or music at all. In the older treatises saṃgīta meant the combined art of singing, instrumental music and dancing, and in Hindi and many other Indian languages sangīt is still the ordinary word for music. Indian name lists give Sangeeta as "music", matching the dictionary. The name is also spelled Sangita and Sangeetha.
