Rudrani meaning
Rudrani (रुद्राणी) is a Hindu girl's name of Sanskrit origin.
Wife of Rudra, the goddess Durga
Also used to mean: parvati
Rudrani (रुद्राणी) is the Sanskrit rudrāṇī, formed from Rudra, the Vedic storm god identified with Śiva, with the feminine ending -ānī used for a god's consort, as in Indrāṇī and Bhavānī. Monier-Williams defines it as Rudra's wife, the goddess Durgā, citing the Mahabharata, and also as the young girl who represents Durgā during the Durgā festival. Name lists give Rudrani as "wife of Rudra" or as a name of Parvati, which agrees with the dictionary. The boys' name Rudra comes from the same word.
In Hindu tradition this is a name of Durga.
