Kritika meaning
Kritika (कृतिका) is a Hindu girl's name of Sanskrit origin.
The Pleiades; the six nurses of Kārttikeya
Also used to mean: star
Kritika (कृतिका) is the name of the Pleiades, Sanskrit kṛttikā. Monier-Williams describes it as a constellation of six stars, once the first and later the third of the lunar mansions, with Agni as its regent and pictured as a flame. In myth the six Kṛttikās are the nymphs who nursed the infant war god, which is why he is called Kārttikeya. Name lists give "star" or "the Pleiades", matching the dictionary. In astrology Krittika is one of the 27 nakshatras, and the name is used across India.
