Kriti meaning
Kriti (कृति) is a Hindu girl's name of Sanskrit origin.
Doing, making; a creation, a work, a literary composition
Kriti (कृति) is Sanskrit kṛti, from the root kṛ, "to do, to make". Monier-Williams gives doing, making and action, and then the senses that suit a name best: a creation, a work, a literary composition. The word also names several Sanskrit metres, and the dictionary records a Kṛti as the wife of Saṃhrāda and mother of Pañcajana. In South Indian classical music a kriti is the main composed song form of a Carnatic concert, built from pallavi, anupallavi and charanam, the form used by composers such as Tyagaraja and Muthuswami Dikshitar. Kriti is a different name from Kirti, which comes from kīrti, "fame".
