Kanti meaning
Kanti (कांति) is a Hindu unisex name of Sanskrit origin, used for both girls and boys. By its first sound, का, it is a Mithun rashi name (Mrigashira nakshatra) in the North Indian table.
Loveliness, beauty, splendour; a name of Lakshmi
Kanti (कांति) is the Sanskrit word for loveliness and radiance. Monier-Williams gives kānti as beauty, splendour and grace, and as a lovely colour or brightness, especially the soft light of the moon; in poetry it is beauty heightened by love, and Kānti personified is the wife of the moon. The dictionary also records Kānti as a name of Lakshmi in the Bhāgavata Purāṇa and of Durgā. In North and East India Kanti is a woman's name, while in Gujarat it is a man's name, as in Kantilal.
In Hindu tradition this is a name of Lakshmi.
