Gangaram meaning
Gangaram (गंगाराम) is a Hindu boy's name of Sanskrit origin (Hindi usage).
Ganga and Rama: the sacred river joined with the name of Rama
Also used to mean: devotee of Rama, pure like the Ganga
Gangaram (गंगाराम) joins two sacred names. Monier-Williams gives Gaṅgā as the "swift-goer", the river Ganges personified, and rāma as pleasing, charming or lovely, and as the name of Rāmacandra and the other celebrated Rāmas. Like Sitaram or Atmaram, it joins a holy word with -ram. Name lists describe it as a devotee of Rama, or as pure like the Ganga. The best-known bearer is Sir Ganga Ram (1851–1927), the civil engineer called the father of modern Lahore, after whom hospitals in Lahore and New Delhi are named.
