Lakshya meaning
Lakshya (लक्ष्य) is a Hindu boy's name of Sanskrit origin.
An aim, target, goal; an object aimed at, a prize
Lakshya (लक्ष्य) comes from Sanskrit lakṣya, from the verb lakṣ, "to mark or notice". Monier-Williams gives the adjective as something to be marked, kept in view or observed, and so visible. As a noun lakṣya is an object aimed at, a prize, an aim, a butt or mark, and a goal, and the phrase lakṣyaṃ labh, "to gain the mark", means to succeed. In modern Hindi lakshya is the ordinary word for a goal or target, and name lists give the name the same meaning. One site links Lakshya to the goddess Lakṣmī, but the dictionary gives no such connection.
