Sujit meaning
Sujit (सुजीत) is a Hindu boy's name of Sanskrit origin.
An easy conquest; well won (su 'well' + jita 'won, conquered')
Also used to mean: victorious, good victory
Sujit (सुजीत) is Sanskrit su-jita, from su, "well, easily", and jita, "won, conquered", the past participle of ji, "to win". Monier-Williams records the word only as a noun, "an easy conquest", from the Vedic Maitrāyaṇī Saṃhitā. Name lists give Sujit as "victorious" or "good victory", reading jit, "winning", as it is used at the end of names such as Indrajit and Abhijit; that is a natural reading of the parts, though the dictionary's own example is narrower. In Bengali it is written সুজিত, and Sujith is the usual south Indian spelling.
