Bhaskar meaning
Bhaskar (भास्कर) is a Hindu boy's name of Sanskrit origin. By its first sound, भा, it is a Dhanu rashi name (Mula nakshatra) in the North Indian table.
Making light, shining; the sun
Bhaskar (भास्कर) is the Sanskrit bhāskara, from bhās, "light", and kara, "making", so literally "light-maker": shining, and above all the sun. Monier-Williams also gives it as a word for fire, as a name of Śiva, and as the name of the celebrated astronomer Bhāskarācārya. That astronomer, Bhāskara II, was born in 1114 and headed the observatory at Ujjain. His Līlāvatī and Bījagaṇita are the best-known of all Indian works on arithmetic and algebra, and his astronomical masterwork, the Siddhānta-śiromaṇi, is often translated as "Crest-Jewel of Astronomical Systems". Name lists give Bhaskar as "the sun", matching the dictionary.
In Hindu tradition this is a name of Surya.
