Balgopal meaning
Balgopal (बालगोपाल) is a Hindu boy's name of Sanskrit origin.
Krishna as a youthful herdsman
Also used to mean: child krishna
Balgopal (बालगोपाल) is Sanskrit bāla-gopāla. Bāla means young, and gopāla, from go, "cow", and pāla, "protector", is a cowherd and one of Krishna's own names. Monier-Williams gives bāla-gopāla as Kṛṣṇa as a youthful herdsman. The name pictures Krishna's boyhood among the cowherds of Vraja, a favourite subject of devotional poetry and of the small brass images many families keep at home. Baby-name lists usually give it as "child Krishna", close to the dictionary sense. In Kerala and Tamil Nadu the forms Balagopal and Balagopalan are used.
In Hindu tradition this is a name of Krishna.
