Rasbihari meaning
Rasbihari (रासबिहारी) is a Hindu boy's name of Sanskrit origin. By its first sound, रा, it is a Tula rashi name (Chitra nakshatra) in the North Indian table.
One who delights in the rāsa dance, i.e. Kṛṣṇa
Also used to mean: lord krishna, sporting in the raas
Rasbihari (रासबिहारी) joins rāsa with bihārī, the Hindi and Bengali form of Sanskrit vihārin. Monier-Williams describes rāsa as a rustic dance of cowherds, "especially the dance of Kṛṣṇa and the Gopīs", and gives vihārin as "roaming for pleasure" or "delighting in". Rasbihari is therefore Krishna, "the one who delights in the rāsa", and name lists say exactly that. The best-known bearer is the revolutionary Rash Behari Bose, who helped found the Indian National Army in Japan.
