Devang meaning
Devang (देवांग) is a Hindu boy's name of Sanskrit origin. By its first sound, दे, it is a Meen rashi name (Revati nakshatra) in the North Indian table.
Part or limb of a god; also a divine emanation of Sadāśiva
Also used to mean: part of God, divine body
Devang (देवांग) joins deva, "god", with aṅga, which Monier-Williams gives as a limb of the body, a member or a part. So the name means "a limb or part of God", and that is how Indian name lists give it. Monier-Williams also records Devāṅga as the name of a divine being who came forth from the body of Sadāśiva and who is said to have invented weaving, and the Devanga weaving community of South India bears the same name. Today Devang is a boy's name used in Gujarat and across western India, sometimes spelled Debang in the east.
