Debarghya meaning
Debarghya (देवार्घ्य) is a Hindu boy's name of Sanskrit origin (Bengali usage). By its first sound, दे, it is a Meen rashi name (Revati nakshatra) in the North Indian table.
Compound of deva, 'god', and arghya, 'water offered to an honoured guest'
Also used to mean: worthy of praise, deserving
Debarghya (देवार्घ्य) is a Bengali compound of Sanskrit deva, "god", and arghya. Monier-Williams gives arghya as the water offered in welcome to an honoured guest or deity, and as an adjective, "valuable, deserving a respectful reception". The name can therefore be read as "an offering to the gods" or "one worthy of honour"; name lists give it as "worthy of praise", which follows the adjectival sense. Arghya is still offered to the sun and to deities in Bengali rituals, and the related name Arghya is also used on its own.
