Chandrachud meaning
Chandrachud (चंद्रचूड़) is a Hindu boy's name of Sanskrit origin.
'moon-crested', a name of Shiva
Also used to mean: lord shiva
Chandrachud (चंद्रचूड़) is Sanskrit candra-cūḍa, from candra, "moon", and cūḍa, "crest, top-knot". Monier-Williams treats it as the same as candra-mukuṭa, "moon-crested", a name of Śiva, who wears the crescent moon in his matted hair, and also lists it as a form of Bhairava. Baby-name lists give the same meaning. Stories explain the image through the moon-god Chandra, who was cursed to wane and found refuge on Shiva's head. Chandrachud is also a Marathi surname, carried by two Chief Justices of India, Y. V. Chandrachud and his son D. Y. Chandrachud.
In Hindu tradition this is a name of Shiva.
