Soumyadip meaning
Soumyadip (सौम्यदीप) is a Hindu boy's name of Sanskrit origin (Bengali usage).
Compound of saumya, 'gentle, mild; moon-like', and dīpa, 'a lamp, light'
Also used to mean: gentle light, lamp of calm
Soumyadip (सौम्यदीप) is a Bengali compound of two Sanskrit words. Saumya first meant "belonging to Soma", the moon, and so came to mean moon-like: placid, gentle and mild. Dīpa is a lamp or light. Together they make "a gentle lamp" or "calm light", the sense name lists give. In Bengali the opening sound is said "show", which is why the name is written Soumya- rather than Saumya-. It is one of several modern Bengali names built on Soumya, alongside Soumyajit and Soumik.
