Sagnik meaning
Sagnik (साग्निक) is a Hindu boy's name of Sanskrit origin (Bengali usage). By its first sound, सा, it is a Kumbh rashi name (Shatabhisha nakshatra) in the North Indian table.
Maintaining a sacred fire, together with Agni; witnessed by Agni
Also used to mean: fiery, with fire
Sagnik (साग्निक) is a Bengali boys' name from Sanskrit sāgnika, made of sa-, "with", and agni, "fire". Monier-Williams gives it as "maintaining a sacred fire" and as "witnessed by Agni", the fire god; in the epics it describes a householder who keeps the household fire for daily rites. Name lists render it more simply as "fiery" or "with fire". The sense of a vow made before Agni also connects it with the Hindu wedding, where vows are taken around the fire. The feminine form Sagnika is also used.
