Satyabrata meaning
Satyabrata (सत्यव्रत) is a Hindu boy's name of Sanskrit origin (Bengali and Odia usage).
A vow of truthfulness; devoted to that vow, strictly truthful
Also used to mean: devoted to truth
Satyabrata (सत्यव्रत) is the Bengali and Odia spelling of Sanskrit satyavrata, from satya, "truth", and vrata, "vow". Monier-Williams gives it as a vow of truthfulness and, as an adjective, someone devoted to that vow, strictly truthful. It is also an old proper name: the dictionary lists an ancient king, Manu Vaivasvata and a son of Dhṛtarāṣṭra in the Mahābhārata, among others. Name lists give "one devoted to truth", in line with the dictionary. In Hindi-speaking areas the same name is spelled Satyavrat.
