Kallol (कल्लोल) is a Hindu boy's name of Sanskrit origin (Bengali usage).
A wave, surge, billow; joy, happiness

Kallol (कल्लोल) comes from Sanskrit kallola, "a wave, surge, billow", a word found in the Pañcatantra and in Bhartṛhari's verses. Monier-Williams also records the lexicon senses "joy, happiness" and "gambol, play". In Bengali kallol is the roar and rush of waves, and the word gave its name to Kallol, the Calcutta literary magazine of 1923 whose writers led a modernist movement in Bengali literature. Name lists give the meaning as "wave" or "the sound of waves". It is a Bengali boys' name.
