Kalash meaning
Kalash (कलश) is a Hindu boy's name of Sanskrit origin.
A water-pot, pitcher, jar; the rounded pinnacle of a temple
Also used to mean: sacred pot
Kalash (कलश) is the Sanskrit kalaśa, "a water-pot, pitcher, jar". Monier-Williams also gives it as the rounded pinnacle on top of a temple or stūpa, and as the name of a man in the Ṛgveda and of a poet. In Hindu worship the kalash is the pot of water, crowned with mango leaves and a coconut, that is set up at the start of a puja or wedding as a sign of fullness and blessing, which is why name lists call it "sacred pot". Monier-Williams compares the word with Latin calix, "cup".
